About Dr. Nicholas Ledderhof

Originally from Ontario, Dr. Ledderhof pursued dentistry to follow in his father’s footsteps. He fell in love with the surgical aspect of dentistry and discovered oral surgery. To Dr. Ledderhof, patient care is synonymous with trust. He feels honored to gain the trust of his patients and, in return, provides exceptional care that aims to improve their oral and overall health. 

Dr. Ledderhof’s philosophy of care includes treating others the way they wish to be treated and practices with compassion, honesty, and kindness. He finds it extremely rewarding to help others when they have a problem and are in pain. He wants his patients to know that he, along with the entire team at Atlantic Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Centre, always has the best interest of their patients at heart.

Education and Residency

Dr. Ledderhof earned his BSc with Honours degree in Biology from Acadia University. He attended dental school at the University of Western Ontario, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Before he began practicing, Dr. Ledderhof completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency (MSc) at the University of Toronto, where he gained hands-on experience in a surgical setting. During this time, he also received extensive training on how to administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout surgery. 

To further his expertise, Dr. Ledderhof completed an Oral/Head and Neck Oncology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. During this time, he gained knowledge and experience in detecting and treating cancers of the head, neck, and mouth.

Dr. Ledderhof is board-certified in Canada and the United States. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). In addition to these prestigious certifications, he is also associated with the following organizations:

• Ontario Dental Association (ODA)
• Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC)

Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, Dr. Ledderhof loves outdoor activities and being around friends and family. He particularly loves skiing, hiking, and camping. When he’s not enjoying the great outdoors, Dr. Ledderhof loves cooking for friends and family.
